The process of building and maintaining bone structure involves numerous biochemical and physiological processes. Osteoblasts and osteoclasts are the two primary types of bone cells involved in maintaining skeletal structure. Osteoblasts are responsible for bone mineralization (building new bone). Osteoclasts are responsible for secreting acid and enzymes that help dissolve “old” bone tissue into calcium and other components, some of which may be reused by the body. The balance of building and breaking down bone, involves a complex interplay between various nutrients, hormones, and other biochemicals. PrevRx Bone+™ is designed to provide the structural components, as well as help support the complex processes involved in building and maintaining strong, healthy bone structure. This formula provides important structural nutrients such as calcium, magnesium and silica. Other important ingredients such as vitamins D and K along with the trace mineral boron, help support the processes involved in building healthy bone. This formula is designed for individuals who wish to increase their intake of calcium and other nutritional factors in order to build and maintain strong, healthy bones.
- Calcium has been approved by the FDA for the prevention of osteoporosis.
- Ipriflavone is the only non-hormonal nutrient shown to stimulate the formation of new bone cells and inhibit the loss of healthy bone when taken with calcium.
- The combination of calcium and ipriflavone results in significantly greater bone mineral density then taking calcium alone.
- Ipriflavone and calcium has been proven safe and effective in double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials.
- Ipriflavone helps support normal osteoclast activity, thereby reducing excess bone resorption (breakdown).
- Isoflavones and ipriflavone work as powerful inhibitors of certain bone depleting cytokines, and therefore help to maintain healthy bone tissue and promote bone regeneration.
- Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that works as a hormone in the body. It aids in the absorption and utilization of calcium and helps reduce calcium excretion.
- Vitamin K is required for the activation (“turning on”) of osteocalcin, a protein that helps to provide structure to bone tissue.
- Taking ipriflavone in combination with 1000 mg of calcium daily can prevent loss of bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis or low bone strength. There is some evidence that it might actually increase bone strength in some of these women. The effect seems to be determined by the amount of calcium that is taken along with the ipriflavone. One study using ipriflavone with only 500 mg per day of calcium found no effect on bone strength. But taking more than 1000 mg of calcium daily may increase the benefit. Taking ipriflavone in combination with estrogen also seems to prevent osteoporosis and increase bone strength in older women. Adding calcium makes the combination work even better.(2)

What is Bone+?
Bone+ is a synergistic combination of calcium, ipraflavone, vitamin D and other minerals needed to promote bone health.
What is Ipraflavone?
Ipriflavone is the only non-hormonal nutrient shown to stimulate the formation of new bone cells and inhibit the loss of healthy bone when taken with calcium.
Ipriflavone has been the subject of 60 clinical trials worldwide and has shown remarkable efficacy in maintaining healthy bone density. It is classified as a drug for preventing osteoporosis in Japan, Argentina and parts of Europe.
Who should take Bone+?
Anyone who does not receive enough calcium from their diet can take Bone+ as a calcium supplement.
Also, post-menopausal women may benefit from the additional ipraflavone and isoflavones contained in Bone+.
Although studies suggest that the ingredients in Bone+ may help prevent and/or reverse osteoporosis, it is not intended to replace any medications your physician may prescribe.
As always, you should consult your physician before beginning any long-term preventive therapy.
How much should I take?
The suggested dose is two caplets twice daily. This is important because calcium cannot be absorbed at doses more than 500-600 mg per single dose.
Since Bone+ contains 1200 mg of calcium in every four caplets, you should be sure to only take two caplets at a time to avoid waste and maximize efficacy.
How long should I take Bone+?
Bone+ is designed to be one part of a healthy lifestyle along with a good diet and regular resistance training. Depending on your individual needs you may need to take Bone+ regularly as part of a long-term preventive therapy.
As always, you should consult your physician before beginning any long-term preventive therapy.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are rare and mild if present. If you feel you are experiencing a serious side effect, discontinue use, notify your physician and contact us to report your adverse event.
