- What You Should Know
- F.A.Q.
- Ingredients
- Vitamin D3 is essential for calcium and phosphorus absorption which helps maintain bone density and strength. This is essential for those with osteoporosis.
- Helps maintain adequate blood calcium levels, which help support cellular metabolic and neuromuscular function.
- Important for normal, healthy cell growth and function.
- Helps support normal, healthy insulin secretion.
- Helps support healthy immune function.
- Some research has vitamin D associated with a decreased risk of various cancers (breast, colon, prostate, bladder, and others), cardiovascular disease, hypertension, stroke, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, macular degeneration, mental illness, and chronic pain.
- Recent research has validated the benefits of higher daily intake of vitamin D.
Estimates range from 40% - 80% of the U.S. population is deficient in vitamin D, therefore supplementing the diet with extra vitamin D is essential for optimal health.
Numerous factors influence the skin’s synthesis of pre-vitamin D3 including, location, climate, sun exposure, skin color, age and use of sunscreen. When you combine all of the factors that influence vitamin D synthesis with the existing widespread deficiency, vitamin D supplementation is the most efficient and convenient way to ensure optimal vitamin D intake.
PrevRx® D3 contains 1,000 iu of highly bio-available D3 (cholecalciferol) from a vegetarian (lanolin) source in each easy to swallow softgel capsule.

What is PrevRx D3?
PrevRx D3 is a high quality vitamin D3 supplement that has been independently tested and certified for content accuracy, purity, and freedom from contaminants. Because vitamin D needs vary and are dependent on several factors, PrevRx D3 is available in 1,000iu softgels, thus allowing you to vary dose based on your doctor or healthcare provider recommendation.
How much vitamin D will I need?
The current Daily Value is 400iu for healthy people. Experts recommend 1,000iu to 5,000iu for those who are over 50, deficient or at greater risk of osteoporosis. You should ask your physician how much vitamin D you need.
Can I take PrevRx-D3 along with my multivitamin or other supplements?
Yes. Although vitamin D needs vary greatly from person to person, most individuals need more than found in a multivitamin. Many experts agree that between 1,000 and 5,000 IU of D3 daily is closer to most women's actual needs. Most adults can safely take PrevRx-D3 along with a multivitamin. For a multivitamin containing D3 plus other nutrients, find out more about Multi+.
I already take a calcium and vitamin D supplement. Do I need PrevRx-D3?
If you take our PrevRx Osteo package, containing Bone+ and D3, along with other vitamins and minerals for bone health, you are receiving the vitamin D3 you need, and you do not need an additional vitamin D supplement. PrevRx Osteo can be taken in place of an existing calcium and vitamin D supplement.
If you take any other calcium supplement with D, you are likely getting only, 200-400 IU vitamin D per dose. Therefore, most women will need to supplement with extra vitamin D when taking a typical calcium and vitamin D or bone health supplement. PrevRx D3 can be taken along with these supplements to increase your vitamin D intake.
How much is too much?
Current research shows that up to 10,000iu daily is safe for adults. Consult your physician on how much vitamin D you should take before starting therapy.
What are the side effects?
Vitamin D is well tolerated at normal doses. Signs of a vitamin D overdose can include nausea, vomiting, weakness, constipation and with high doses disorientation, kidney and heart problems. Seek medical attention immediately if you think you have overdosed.
Will Vitamin D interact with my prescription medicine?
Vitamin D in high doses may interact with medicines. You should discuss any supplementation with your physician.
